Why should
I choose Checkmate Training as my crammer course provider?

You only have to
read the 'About us' page to know that our trainers possess an extremely
high degree of knowledge, experience and credibility; this cannot be
matched by any other provider. With their history of delivering Part
I crammer courses to a professional standard, our trainers are people
you can trust to supply the training you require.

If you have read
the 'Our course' page you will know that our distinctive course methodology
offers you the opportunity not only to learn, but also to actually test
your knowledge and understanding in the same way it will be tested in
your Part I examination. Combine this with a course timetable targeting
the most rewarding areas of the syllabus and you have a crammer course
in a class of its own.

As
we have thousands of OSPRE Part I candidates attending various courses
we decided that the best way to measure our success would be to choose
sample courses and see how candidates attending those courses performed.
Measuring
the performance of 100s of candidates taking the Ospre Part I Sergeants
or Inspectors examinations showed that candidates attending our
courses performed far better than their counterparts who did not attend
our courses. Please click here to see our
Success Rates.
Over 140 candidates for the March 2008 Sergeants' examination attended
our courses in Devon & Cornwall and Sussex, attaining an overall
pass rate of 53% - that is nearly double the national average of 28.9%.
These are genuine and verifiable figures
that can be verified via the respective Force Examinations Officer.

Here
is a selection of feedback we have received from your peers who have
attended our crammer courses.

Paul and Julianna
Hi just a quick e-mail to say I attended your 3 day crammer course
in Sussex back in February and found it very useful in the final
stages of my study.
I scored 89.3% coming second in the country out of 9062 candidates
and top for my force so thanks for all your advice and tips (in
fact I got 95% on Crime and I am a Traffic Officer!)
I will be recommending your crammer course to all of my colleagues
this year.
Once again, thanks for your help and best wishes!
PC Nick Edwards - Sussex Police

Hi both,
A quick line to say thank you for the invaluable help I received
during your 3 day course at Hendon in February. The course made
me think about subject matter and the exam itself in a different
way.
I have been told by the Met's OSPRE desk I was the oldest candidate
to take and pass the exam at 52. As they say, it is never too
late to start learning!
I have passed on my views on your course to a number of budding
inspectors and hope they benefit in the same way as I did.

I passed, first time, and in my probation! I got 69% and I
know that at least four questions I was smiling as I answered.
Why? 25 MAMS, the condition of your PANCREAS, and other helpful
pneumonics, hints & tips from Paul & Julianna.
I would absolutely recommend this crammer just before the
sergeants exams to top off your revision. The word 'cram' suits
it exactly. And not a dull moment either. Three days went by in
a whirl.
And I know that 4 out of five people I met on my weekend in
Birmingham also passed. I would say, money well spent.
Roll on the NIE course! Thanks guys.

Hi,
Just to let you know I passed my Ospre part 1. Thank you all at
Checkmate. I did the Ratio study timetable, the crammer course
in Lincolnshire and used Blackstone's along with Julianna's CD.
Couldn't have done it without the crammer course.
The kids are glad it's over, they are sick of the CD's in
the car............"Section 4 kick down the door" yells
my 4 year old as he runs in to nursery!
Thanks again

Hi there,
I just want to say a big thank you for your absolutely superb
training course for OSPRE PART 1. I was given my good news today
and believe that this success was down to your brilliant input
in January. I will strongly recommend your courses to all at Ilford
Police Station.
Once again THANK YOU!!!!

Good Evening Paul and Julianna,
I thought I'd let you know that I PASSED Ospre Pt 1!!! I attended
your course in Staffordshire in February. In my force (Essex)
253 took the exam and just 63 passed - I am delighted. I wanted
to thank you for all of your help and to let you know how useful
all of the course content was.
Thanks for an excellent course.
Kind regards,
Sue Midwinter - Essex Police.

Just a quick e-mail to thank you for your help. I attended your
Crammer Course 15/16/17th Feb 2007 and have just got my result through.
Amazingly, after what seemed a heiniously difficult exam I passed!
I will certainly recommend it to others - you cover all the crucial
topics thoroughly which I think is vital and often taken for granted
by those studying, when in fact they have not grasped the finer
aspects.

Dear all at Checkmate,
I'm sure you know the part 1 results came out yesterday.....I
PASSED! FIRST TIME!
I just wanted to say thank you for helping. I attended crammer
course held at Kent Police College, Maidstone and I found all
your help invaluable and its true, in the exam I could hear the
relevant voices (no I'm not mad) talking about the subject that
was in the question. I know I worked wretchedly hard to take this
exam and used your full 100 mins a day timetable but the icing
on the top was you guys and I'm sure that you helped me achieve
the pass and helped with the confidence needed to get that grade.
I would (and already have) recommended you to everyone, and all
I need to know now is when can I start getting help for part 2!
I'm sure you are receiving lots of e-mails like this today from
around the country and I hope it does give you that warm huggy
feeling you deserve for helping the next generation up the ladder.
Drinks all round!
Many thanks,
PC Diane Webster - Section 4 Tunbridge Wells, Kent Police

Paul & Julianna,
I wanted to write to say thank you for the Checkmate help in my

This was down to the excellent 3-day crammer course run by Julianna

I have just found out to my delight today that I have passed the
2008 SGT's exam. I have no doubt that this success is down to
attending your course at Durham HQ, and I would just like to thank
both you and Julianna for all your input on those 3 days, without
it I would not have succeeded
Thanks again

Dear Paul and Juliana,
I attended the Crammer Course at Edgbaston Cricket Club back in
February. I just wanted to thank you for what I found to be an
engaging, informative course. The results were out today and I
passed so it was money well spent! Thank you so much for putting
together a package that brings out some really important topics
in such a clear manner. Rest assured I will be recommending your
course to people seeking promotion within the Police.
Once again many thanks and all the best.
See you on the Inspectors Crammer!
Sincerely
PC Mark Cummings

Feedback
from sergeants attending inspectors' courses:
|
Paul & Julianna, I attended your Inspectors
crammer in West Mercia this year and am very pleased to say that
I passed my Inspectors exam. I would like to say that I found
the course absolutely top notch. The no-nonsense-pin your ears
back and listen approach suited me down to the ground. I had no
doubt from the start that the people standing in front of me on
this course knew their stuff inside out and upside down. It cleared
up for me numerous points of doubt that had arisen in my study
and the comprehensive explanations, diagrams and accompanying theatre
were perfect. I was daunted by the 65% pass mark but am pleased
to say I got 76%. My learning on the course undoubtedly got me
a number of marks I otherwise wouldn`t have got.
Thanks very much

A superb 3 days. The delivery and pace was very

Great course, lively delivery covering a huge
amount of material quickly but in a manner that ensures understanding.
The RIPA input is the latest of many I have had during my service
but it is the first one I have come away from feeling I fully
understand the subject.
PS Robinson, Sussex Police - Sussex course August 2007

An extremely enjoyable course! A lot of hard
work but I feel FAR more confident about my abilities and what
to expect. Course delivery was excellent, great use of humour
and I love the mnemonics! I found the style of delivery extremely
useful and would recommend it to anyone. Thanks.

The most useful, informative, helpful course
I have ever been on and the 'best value' item I have ever bought
with my husbands credit card! Many, many thanks - it has restored
my confidence that I CAN pass this exam.
