Our results are verifiable through Force NIE contacts.
Up to
and including the June 2010 NIE, we have trained 2935 Trainee Investigator's
on 86 courses. 2790 of those candidates passed the examination. That
is an overall pass rate of 95%.
We challenge any NIE crammer course
provider to even come close to our genuine pass rate statistics - they
won't because they can't!
That is why West Midlands Police, Warwickshire
Police, West Mercia Police, Essex Police, Cambridgeshire Police, Norfolk
Police and Greater Manchester Police (to name but a few), opt to send
all of their NIE candidates on a Checkmate Training crammer course -
because we are the best and we deliver high quality results on a consistent
and long-term basis.
Do not be misled by people who tell you that they
have a 100% pass rate or that 'every candidate' on their course passed
their exam - a pass rate of 100% in the NIE is impressive but if you
only have 8 candidates taking the exam it flatters to deceive.
Do not be misled by people who tell
you they train top ranked forces in the Sergeants' or Inspectors' examinations
- even if it were true what has this got to do with the National Investigators'
Examination?
For statistics that really mean something
because they involve large numbers of candidates over a lengthy
period of time, take a look at our results from the West Midlands.
From March 2006 to June 2010 616 officers from the
West Midlands took the NIE. In 21 examinations there were 32 failures.
That is a pass rate of 95%. We taught every
single one of these candidates.
We can produce similar results going back
to the very first NIE in March 2003 and on a force basis (for example
from West Midlands Police, Warwickshire Police, West Mercia Constabulary,
Essex Police, MOD Police, British Transport Police and Cambridgeshire
Police.) We can also produce high quality individual results from officers
who have attended our courses from other forces all over the country.

their officers to us in this testament by Crime Trainer Vanessa Firn

I am a Crime Trainer in Cambridgeshire Constabulary. When
I took over as co-ordinator of the National Investigators Exam
last year and I was shocked to see how many officers were failing
the exam not just once or twice but three times. This resulted
in several officers losing their place on the CID and others avoiding
the exam by whatever means possible - both caused me great concern.
I carried out some research into what study support was available
for them and found the 2-day NIE Training course provided by Checkmate
Training Ltd. I took 6 officers on the weekend course; 5 were
on their 3rd attempt at the exam and one on their 2nd attempt.
Although I had taken my CID exams 20 years before I sat in
on all the lectures and was, I have to say, completely amazed.
The exam technique lecture was invaluable and confidence boosting
to say the least. In the following lectures the pertinent points
of each subject were clearly and fully explained in a way that
was easy to understand and remember.
From a trainers' point of view I cannot fault Paul Connor
and David Pinfield - their presentation style is excellent and
is supported by a faultless and magnificently compiled PowerPoint.
At the end of the weekend everyone was very positive, including
me. I just wanted to take the exam! I felt so confident.
The feedback from the 6 students was extremely positive and
it is a testament to the course that every one of them passed
the next exam.
As a result, my force are now supporting students attending
the course. This month 20 Officers who are taking the September
exam went on the course and the feedback, needless to say, is
once again brilliant.
I would whole heartedly recommend this course to everyone
taking the exam. It is invaluable to the student and cost effective
to the force as the chances of the officer passing first time
is greatly increased.

Here is some feedback from that last course in
Essex:

Everybody should attend this course. I have learnt so much
and really enjoyed the manner in which it was taught - it has
given me confidence to go forward and continue to study.

Extremely valuable 2 days, especially the experience of a
mock exam and the following clarification and explanation of the
core subjects.

This course has been a massive incentive for me to study AND
PASS this exam. I found both Paul and Dave very easy to understand
and enjoyed both very different styles of teaching. This has opened
my eyes to how much I need to do but also advised me how to substantially
cut that down which is a massive boost for me and has given me
great confidence. I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity
of this training and now feel confident about my revision and
passing the exam. Thanks so much!
