"This course certainly contributed
to my 94% pass mark - without a doubt, money well spent"
Cate Lonergan
March 2011 NIE - top mark in force (Kent)
and 2nd highest mark nationally.

NIE Training offers you an ultra-intensive two-day
study course specifically targeting areas of the NIE syllabus that are
consistently tested in your examination. Our 100% original course material
and methodology has been proven to work for NIE candidates by your peers
since October 2002.
Our study courses:
Are ONLY for National Investigators'
Examination candidates.
Your course is designed for YOU - the NIE candidate ALONE.
You WILL NOT be attending a course with Ospre Part I sergeants'
or inspectors' candidates as not only do they study a different syllabus
but their examination is fundamentally different to yours.
Are true 'crammer' courses.
We believe that the reason you attend our course is to work extremely
hard for two days and not to have extended tea breaks and one hour lunches.
You will be given short breaks between inputs but breaks are kept to an
absolute minimum.
Provide you with the opportunity
to sit a two-hour 80 question mock examination.
The examination tests all the major areas of the syllabus. The examination
is written in exactly the same style and format as the real NIE and is
marked during the course. This mock examination is entirely original and
unique to our course and does not use questions from any of our published
works.
Present you with in-depth lectures focusing on
the most important subjects in the examination.
Our valid and reliable statistical research enables us to target your
lectures on the most valuable subject matter.
|
|
Our lectures
are supported by dynamic PowerPoint presentations designed
to aid the simple but modern learning approach we have developed
with years of experience in this field. We know that everyone
learns in different ways and to cater for this factor we have
adopted a blended learning approach that appeals to all learning
styles.
A key element to this blended learning approach is 'interactivity'.
We teach the law, pointing out the areas of greatest importance
and giving easy to understand examples from case law.
Then you
will have the opportunity to test yourself by applying your
knowledge of the law to NIE style MCQ's.

|
Allow you to see how multiple-choice questions
really work.
In doing so you should be able to eliminate errors in your question answering
techniques.
Give you the chance to test your knowledge
and application of the law using a 'Personal Response System'.
|
By
answering multiple-choice questions during lessons (in an entirely
anonymous fashion) you can find out whether you really do understand
the law.
Candidates are
often concerned that when they answer questions in lectures they
will answer incorrectly and consequently be embarrassed. This worry
can prevent their participation or lead to them taking hints from
the answers of others and does not help them to understand the law.
To assist candidates in the learning process, all of the multiple-choice
questions along with the true/false questions used in our lectures
can be answered using an electronic 'Personal Response System' (PRS)
which we will provide to you to use for the duration of your course.
These simple
hand-held electronic devices allow you to interact with the all
of the questions posed. Your answer is transmitted to our computer
and the results of the class are then displayed within our PowerPoint
presentation. This totally anonymous system means that at no stage
can you be identified as having not taken part or as having answering
a question correctly or incorrectly. You
will still be able to see for yourself how your
knowledge compares to that of other candidates, helping you decide
which areas of law you need to pay more attention to during your
revision period.
|
 |
|
This self-assessment
process allows you to have confidence in providing us with your
answer while still being able to and allows us to gauge class understanding
of the law. We can then quickly clear up any ambiguities or misunderstanding
without identifying any particular individual and move on to the
next topic.
Not only do
candidates find PRS a fun way to learn but there is a great deal
of research showing that these technology-supported assessment methods
lead to improvements in candidates conceptual reasoning and exam
performance.
