It is of critical importance to note that the only type of MCQ candidates will be asked to answer in the Ospre Part I examination is an 'A-Type' question (please see Article One: Multiple-Choice Question (MCQ) Style in the Study Centre for more details).

I am convinced that many candidates perform badly and fail their examinations because they practise answering MCQ's that are written in a style and format that is completely different to that which they will face in the real examination. Some commercial companies know this is the case but will leave this fact unsaid as they would never sell their product otherwise. Add to this the facts that these MCQ's are often written by people who have no legal background, who have not been appropriately trained to write questions by Centrex/NPIA and who do not have their questions formal checked for accuracy at any level then not only do you have a poor quality product but one that is also potentially dangerous to the Ospre Part I candidate. It does not matter how many 1000s of questions you practice on if they are inferior - remember that quality with MCQ's is always better than quantity.

There is only one commercial provider of MCQ's that guarantees all of their questions are of the 'A-type' variety, that have been written by properly qualified MCQ writers and then checked by legal experts at Oxford University and that is Blackstone's Press.

The Blackstone's Press Q & A 'Online' service (containing over 2400 questions) or as an alternative the Blackstone's Press Q & A books (containing around 850 questions) are undoubtedly the best MCQ's on the commercial market.

Blackstone's are the only MCQs that I (Paul Connor) recommend you use. I do not recommend any other commercial provider of MCQs.
